The governor sustained an injury on his forehead.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State was on Friday in Owerri involved in an auto accident.
Mr. Okorocha told newsmen that he was going to inspect projects in the state when a Mercedes Saloon car ran into his motorcade.
The governor, who wore a bandage on his forehead, said he was in a stable condition after receiving treatment.
The Personal Physician to Mr. Okorocha, Sylvester Igwe, said the
governor had a minor injury on the forehead, adding that he needed a
medical examination to determine the full extent of the injury.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Musa Katsina, said the
police Accident Investigation Team had begun investigation into the
cause of the accident
